Charges Withdrawn from Lowman Man in Bradford Co.--6/7/2018

The Bradford County District Attorney’s Office recently withdrew all charges against a man from Lowman, NY. Stephen Andrew Martin, 35, was charged by the Sayre Borough Police Department with Indecent Assault, a misdemeanor of the first degree, and Corruption of Minors, a felony of the third degree.

Officer Nikki Hoffman filed the charges against Martin on June 22, 2017. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for May 8, 2018 before Magisterial District Judge Larry Hurley, but prior to the hearing, the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office withdrew the charges based upon a lack of evidence. Martin was represented by local attorney, Chad M. Salsman, Esq.

Salsman issued the following statement: "Unfortunately, Mr. Martin was in custody nearly ten months, at taxpayer expense, prior to the charges being withdrawn. Mr. Martin is looking forward to putting these false allegations behind him and living the remainder of his life in peace."

Due to the serious nature of the charges, Martin had faced up to twelve years in a state prison if he had been convicted.
