DUI charges withdrawn against Dushore man--12/12/2017

The Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office recently withdrew all DUI charges against a Dushore man. John E. Dieffenbach, Sr., 66, was charged by the Pennsylvania State Police with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, an ungraded misdemeanor.

Trooper Carmen Yurek filed the charges against Dieffenbach for an act that occurred on October 19, 2017. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for December 6, 2017 before Magisterial District Judge Jennifer Vandine, but prior to the hearing, the Commonwealth withdrew the charges. Instead, Dieffenbach entered a guilty plea to Disorderly Conduct, graded as a summary offense, and received a one hundred and fifty dollar fine. Dieffenbach had faced up to six months in jail if he had been convicted of the DUI. Dieffenbach was represented by local attorney, Chad M. Salsman, Esq.
